Following discussions between headteachers, chairs of governors and Surrey County Council over a period of time, nineteen schools agreed early in 2007 to form the East Guildford Confederation – a group of schools ‘working together to make every child matter’. All member schools are geographically in the East, Central and South Eastern Guildford area apart from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, which joined the Confederation to provide continuity for the majority of its children who subsequently attend St Peter’s Catholic Comprehensive School. Sue Giddings was appointed as Manager in July 2007 and Jacqui O’Neill as Admin Assistant in March 2008. Both part-time posts are based at St Peter’s School.
